Jhansi to Khajuraho taxi: one way or a two day round trip
Khajuraho is 175km from Jhansi by road, and the drive takes about 3 hours 30 minutes. Few trains go to Khajuraho, so most guests get off at Jhansi and finish the trip with us by car.
One way or round trip
Book one way if you are staying on in Khajuraho or moving on from there. The fixed one way fare covers the full 175km to Khajuraho. You pay for one drive, and the car does not wait.
Book a round trip if you want the same car and driver to bring you back. A round trip over two days is charged by the km, with at least 250km counted for each day. Over two days that is at least 500km. The drive there and back is 350km, so you have room for local driving in Khajuraho without paying extra km. A driver allowance is added for each day.
If you only need one way, the one way fare is the better deal. The round trip makes sense once you want a car and driver on the second day too.

It is a long drive with bags. A sedan seats 4 with 2 bags. A family of five or six fits best in the Ertiga or the Innova Crysta.
The road
The road runs south east through Chhatarpur, then turns off at Bamitha for the last stretch into Khajuraho. Chhatarpur is about 130km from Jhansi, about 2 hours 15 minutes in. It is a plains road, with no hill sections.
Stopping at Orchha on the way
Orchha is 20km from Jhansi. Orchha sits close to the start of the Khajuraho road, so a stop there adds only a short detour. Tell us when you book how long you want there, so the fare and the timing are right. If you want a full day in Orchha, read the Jhansi to Orchha guide and do Khajuraho the next morning.
When to go
October to March is the cooler season, and summer afternoons in Bundelkhand get very hot. In any season, an early start pays off.
Timing the drive
Leave Jhansi by mid morning and you reach Khajuraho in time for lunch, with the afternoon free for the temples. Is your train in late in the evening? Stay the night in Jhansi or Orchha and drive on in the morning. That way the last stretch past Chhatarpur is in daylight.
Book it
Book a drop on our one way page, or a two day trip on the round trip page. Tell us your train and coach, and we meet you at Jhansi Junction.
